Lyrics
[Verse 1] Two old amps and a borrowed kit A cracked guitar with a sticker on it Mom's garage at the end of the street The whole block shaking to the beat We only know about four chords But we play 'em like we're going to war [Pre-Chorus] And when the door rolls up The summer air pours in [Chorus] Turn up the garage lights We're too loud for this little town tonight Sing it till your voice breaks Nobody's gonna tell us what it takes Hey! Hey! Turn it up! Under the garage lights [Verse 2] Jenny on bass with her hair in her face Danny on drums setting the pace We wrote a song on a napkin at work Best three minutes in the whole wide world The cops came by around ten We said sorry, then we played it again [Pre-Chorus] And when the door rolls up The summer air pours in [Chorus] Turn up the garage lights We're too loud for this little town tonight Sing it till your voice breaks Nobody's gonna tell us what it takes Hey! Hey! Turn it up! Under the garage lights [Guitar Solo] [Bridge] One day they'll know our names Or maybe they never will Either way we're here right now Either way we're louder still [Final Chorus] Turn up the garage lights We're too loud for this little town tonight Sing it till your voice breaks Nobody's gonna tell us what it takes Hey! Hey! Turn it up! Under the garage lights [Outro] Under the garage lights!
